Tiina works on Sustainable Finance Hub strategy and planning, with a focus on integrated deliverables across SFH teams and in collaboration with other UNDP Bureaus. She also leads SFH knowledge management, risk management and compliance work.
Tiina has 14 years of experience in development and humanitarian fields. Before her current role at SFH, Tiina helped to set up the UNDP- and OCHA-led Connecting Business initiative which capacitates private sector networks to engage in crisis preparedness, response and recovery. She has supported UNDP’s global private sector programming and Country Offices at Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development and Innovation and Development Alliances Cluster at UNDP headquarters in New York. She was deployed to the United Nations Mission for Ebola Emergency Response in Ghana to work on private sector engagement in the Ebola crisis response. Tiina has also worked at UNDP's Regional Center for Eastern and Southern Africa in Johannesburg, supporting the regional private sector program and 46 country offices in the region. Before that, she worked at UNDP Country Office in Lesotho for two years managing several inter-agency projects on youth employment, trade and national development. Before joining the UN, Tiina worked in academia and the private sector in international trade facilitation, insurance and retail sector.
