Indonesia’s first SDG bond raises $584 million
Indonesia becomes the first country in southeast Asia to issue an SDG bond

In September, Indonesia became the first country in Southeast Asia to issue an SDG Bond in the global debt capital market, raising $584 million. UNDP worked in partnership with the Ministry of Finance during all stages of the technical aspects of SDG Bond’s issuance, which will enable the Government to finance social and environmental projects.
