Private Finance for the SDGs

UNDP’s Private Finance for the SDGs leverages, scales, and aligns private sector investments to help achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. We address the critical need for sustainable finance, aiming to transform the global financial architecture and bridge the substantial SDG financing gap. By ensuring that financial decisions are informed by the SDGs, we support impactful investments that prioritise people and the planet.

Our initiatives have significantly mobilised private sector investment towards sectors critical for sustainable development, such as renewable energy, climate action, healthcare, agriculture, and more. Notable achievements include securing substantial investments for women- and youth-led enterprises, promoting renewable energy solutions, and enhancing market access for smallholder farmers.
