This report aims to identify illegal waste dumping sites in Guatemala through state-of-the-art geographical information systems (GIS), computer vision (CV) and machine learning (ML) methods. Co led by UNDP Accelerator Lab Guatemala  and SDG AI Lab, and in collaboration with Politecnico di Milano (Polimi),  the project uses satellite imagery analysis to facilitate efficient and cost-effective monitoring of dumpsites. This joint effort aligns with the strategic goals of the National Development Plan and Country Priorities.
