This short companion report builds on UNDP and Generali's joint research exploring a value chain approach as a practical framework for designing more targeted and scalable risk solutions for micro- and small to medium-sized enterprise (MSMEs). This summary spotlights the unique benefits of applying a gender lens to the development of insurance solutions, distribution channels and support programmes that are targeted and appropriate for women-led enterprises. It also highlights that the providing these enterprises with the support they need to thrive builds resilience across economies and regions.
